The Works was set up 1948. It was established by glass workers who came from a village of Rokitno in Sarny County, which lies in what is now Ukraine today. The Works was established as a cooperative. On 6th February 1950, the Cooperative was given a legal person status by a decision of the County Court in Opole. The basis for the establishment of the Works was a saw-mill once owned by Germans who left after World War Two. It comprised a wooden manufacturing hall, a brickwork stack and an office building. The first manufacturing operations started in 1950 and the product was hand-blown bottles of different volumes. The 60's saw a gradual upgrade of mechanical equipment of the Works. It was the time when preparatory works for the reconstruction of manufacturing hall were started
A new manufacturing hall was erected in early 70's. The next stage was the introduction of carousel automatic machines for the manufacture of bottles. At that time, the Works was trading as "Vitrum". The Labour Cooperative has become specialised in the manufacture of bottles for pesticides and wine. It also manufactures bottles for the pharmaceutical and food processing industries. In 1993, the Works changed its name following the change of ownership. Its was given the name "Kama-Vitrum" and started doing business as a private company. Its activities were entirely devoted to the manufacture of wide-opening receptacles then.
The Works now is a specialist in the manufacture of grave candles, available in a number of patterns, sizes and colours. We also manufacture coffee cream jars. The works has its own means of transport which can deliver 160 pallets at a time.
